Live In Berlin

The Final Fling - picture 1

This concert was recorded at an East Berlin Peace Concert the year before the wall came down. You could feel the yearning for freedom in the air as 150,000+ East Germans came to enjoy the kind of concert us Westerners take for granted. It was this concert that gave inspiration for the bands next studio album, 'Peace In Our Time' to be released the following year.

The Final Fling - picture 2

Big Country were one of the few truly awesome live outfits to have survived the roller coaster ride of the mad Eighties and come through wiser and stronger, their star burning brighter than ever. In May 2000 the band embarked on their "Final Fling" tour of the UK. They had never sounded so good and the audience as fervent as ever. This concert is the final date of the tour at their spiritual home of Glasgow's Barrowlands.

"This collection of promotional videos takes you on a visual journey of Big Country's Greatest hits from 1982 (Harvest Home) through to 1999 (Perfect World). Including their biggest successes, Fields of Fire, In A Big Country, Look Away & Wonderland. Although they were best known as one of the greatest 'live' bands around, they made interesting and fun videos to accompany their singles. From their 'pin up' days of the 80's through the locations of Moscow, Washington, the Australian outback to their homeland of Scotland, this collection captures what Big Country were all about; passion, pride and uplifting music to move mountains by." Ian Grant Manager, October 2002.

"When Big Country took to the stage at the Grugahalle in Essen in March 1986 they were at the peak of their commercial success on the back of their No.1 UK album "Steeltown" and the release of their follow up "The Seer" a few months in the future. The show captures everything that was good about Big Country, the soaring guitar, the great songs, the powerhouse rythm section and Stuart Adamson's charasmatic performance as the band's frontman. Big Country would go on for many years after this but they can have delivered few finer performances than this legendary Rockpalast appearance."
