A 'Limited Edition' run of 50 lathe-cut square vinyl individually numbered singles was available from Kirsten's website from 1st December. For this edition Kirsten has spray-painted each one by hand, handwritten the numbers and printed each one with bespoke stamps. Kirsten has also stamped and signed the vinyl sticker and the back of the cover. Each one is completely unique and free from any factory production so there may be little imperfections. These are one offs and won't be available once stock runs out. The actual cover is more flourescent orange but those kind of colours are not picked up or reproduced by cameras or scanners and phone/computer screens. "Coals and Ashes" is a swampy sounding track co-written with award-winning producer/songwriter Dean Owens about the inability to douse the smouldering embers of an old flame. Side 1: Stitches (Kirsten Adamson) ℗ & © 2023 Kirsten Adamson. Produced by Bob Heatlie Jnr at Coloursound Studios. Stamp designs by Ben Richards and manufactured by Get Stamped. A 'Limited Edition' run of 40 individually numbered singles was available from Kirsten's website from 6th February, with 15 more a few days later and a final 8 on 14th February, which sold out on the 15th. The square clear polycarbonate vinyl was hand cut on a 70 year old lathe machine by The Last Days of Pompeii. Kirsten says: "'Stitches' is a track I recorded with my first band The Gillyflowers and it's a much loved song that I still play live. We decided to do a limited run of this on the lathe cutter since the original track was never released." track taken from Adamson's first band The Gillyflowers' EP 'No Dancing', released in 2012. Recently described in a live review as a mix of "sawdust and stardust" the track is about embarking on a new relationship before you've gotten over the last heartbreak, "Let's go behind the screen, tear me at the seams, rip the stitches from my heart! Sew me up again, sew me and I'll mend, all I needed from the start!" Kirsten is Stuart's daughter! |
