Page 30 HEARD THE LATEST FAN-CY THAT! Stuart Adamson thinks Big Country's fans are ace. "They send us absolutely tons of fan mail. At one time, when we were relative new-comers to the music scene, people kept sending us the wrappers from "Wagon Wheel" biscuits because they thought it fitted in with the Big Country image," he told us. "Luckily, our fans seem to have stuck with us judging bt the amount of leters we get!" Keep up the good work, lads! WHAT A SHOW! Watch out for The Armoury Show... They're a new band on the music scene, although individually they've been around for ages. Richard Jobson and Russell Webb were both members of The Skids, John Doyle was with Magazine (classed as the thinking man's punk band - whatever that means!) and John McGeoch co-founded the same band as well as Visage, then played with Siouxsie And the Banshees. As you can see, they're not new to the music business, so it's hardly surprising that they were asked to write the theme tune for the BBC arts programme "Omnibus." After this they sent a tape of their music, including their recent "Castles In Spain," to the programme directors, who obviously disliked it, because their name was taken off the credits. Some people just don't know good music when they hear it! The Armoury Show: (left to right) Richard Jobson, John Doyle, John McGeoch, Russell Webb. |
